Ms Sasot is World Politics and Global Justice student at Leiden University College. She is originally from
the Philippines where she co-founded the Society of Transsexual Women of the Philippines, the
first transgender rights advocacy and support group in her country. In 2009 she was invited to address
the United Nations on the topic of human rights.
On Friday the 31st of May, she will hold a lecture about her drive for fighting for the rights of LGBTQI
people, her experiences and her plans for the future. This lecture will be introduced by the Vice-Rector
Magnificus Simone Buitendijk.
