The LeidCEu Outbound Scholarship Programme

Scholarships are available for both Leiden University students and academic staff who would like to study, do research or teach at Central European University (CEU) in Budapest.

 

Aim

The  scholarship programme intends to further strengthen the academic ties with the Central European University (CEU) in Budapest.

I. Bachelor's master's and PhD students

A. Study or research

Leiden University students are offered the opportunity to study or do research for one or two semesters at the Central European University in Budapest with a study grant from the LeidCEu scholarships programme.

Applications are open to bachelor's, master's and PhD students registered at Leiden University.

The scholarship
Scholarships are considered to be a contribution towards the total cost of the study abroad period, and consist of:

a) tuition fees; b) travel costs; c) a monthly stipend.
d) for non-EU/EER students, the cost of visa/residence permits will be reimbursed.

B. Participation in the yearly postgraduate conference in Social Sciences

Additional possibilities are available for master’s/PhD students actively participating at the post-graduate conference at the CEU, relevant to their study, by presenting a paper. This scholarship consists of an amount which will be decided upon annually.

II. Leiden University staff

The programme also offers some financial support (weekly stipend) to Leiden academic staff, delivering guest lectures or doing research at the CEU.
